And all the people perceived the thunder and the lighting flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.

Kids are ready to begin making music even earlier than you may think. Before then, there are benefits to just listening. Hearing music stimulates the mind, improves the mood and brings people together.

A study at the University of California at Irvine demonstrated that young kids who participated in music instruction showed dramatic enhancements in abstract reasoning skills. In fact, researchers have found neural firing patterns that suggest that music may hold the key to higher brain function. Research at McGill University in Montreal, Canada showed that grade-school kids who took music lessons scored higher on tests of general and spatial cognitive development, the abilities that form the basis for performance in math and engineering.

Kids who make music have been shown to get along better with classmates and have fewer discipline problems. More of them get into their preferred colleges also.

Did you know that today we are finding out how music touches our lifes in both well being and academic achievement? It is nothing new, for Music had the same effects from the very beginning. All throughout the Bible we can read about the well being and achievement of children who became heroes. This is why it is so important for us to "train our children".

At this time, well over 1000 studies - including reports from the Surgeon General's office, the National Institute of Mental Health, and numerous studies conducted by leading figures within our medical and public health organizations point overwhelmingly to a causal connection between media violence and aggressive behavior in some children. The conclusion of the public health community, based on over 30 years of research, is that viewing entertainment violence can lead to increases in aggressive attitudes, values and behavior, particularly in children. We can make a difference by teaching children music using the Bible, and about the qualities of real heroes, and their laws.
