Children are the most vulnerable individuals in our society; they are also the most precious commodity that the world has and have a right to be protected from all forms of abuse and for sites to maintain the privacy of children. Though the COPPA law is for the United States there are many such organizations throughout the world that promote child safety. Because the Internet has no borders, uploading an illegal image essentially constitutes an international crime. Images can be easily taken and uploaded in one country and made available to anyone in the world with a computer and an Internet connection. Differing laws and police systems throughout the world necessitate the existence of a central body to collect, store, analyse and disseminate information on child exploitation on the Internet. W.O.R.D. works with organizations to report Abuse form those sites that target children and young people.
