Keyboards for Christ Music Ministry is proud to offer you three Vacation Bible School Programs. The Hero Academy was used worldwide in 2007 and 2008. Now for 2009 we will be introducing two new programs. 

The Lighthouse of Life...be a keeper of the light   Downloadable in Dec/Jan.

 This unique program has illistrated instructions for crafts and activities :  making a compass, making a rainbow, making a fog horn, making fog, making a sailboat, making a lighthouse, the keepers tool box, the keepers tools, the keepers journal, boat races, mud bricks, many other activities and crafts. But the most important thing is learning about the one true light.....and how to let that light shine through them...Jesus Christ.

­We see things every day, from the moment we get up in the morning until we go to sleep at night. We look at everything around us using light. We apprecia­te kids' crayon drawings, fine oil paintings, swirling computer graphics, gorgeous sunsets, a blue sky, shooting stars and rainbows. We rely on mirrors to make ourselves presentable, and sparkling gemstones to show affection. But did you ever stop to think that when we see any of these things, we are not directly con­nected to it? We are, in fact, seeing light -- light that somehow left objects far or near and reached our eyes. Light is all our eyes can really see. The child is curious. He wants to make sense out of things, find out how things work, gain competence and control over himself and his environment, do what he can see other people doing. He is open, receptive and perceptive. He does not shut himself off from the strange, confused, complicated world around him. He observes it closely and sharply, tries to take it all in. He doesn not merely observe the world around him, but tastes it, touches it, hefts it, bends it, breaks it. To find out how reality works, he works on it. He is bold. He is not afraid of making mistakes. And he is patient. He can tolerate an extraordinary amount of uncertainty, confusion, ignorance, and suspense. He does not have to have instant meaning in any new situation. He is willing and able for meaning to come to him -- even if it comes very slowly, which it usually does...

During the entire period of the VBS it is vital that several bibles be placed on the tables. Bibles should always be viewable around children in their lives. Even though some are to young to read them perhaps it is a seed and it is important that our children see the bible always!

This VBS is based around a lighthouse so it is important that you know something about a lighthouse so that you can relate a lighthouse to the program. "be the keeper of the light     Vacation Bible School Program 2009  By Rev. Daniel L. Wheeler This  program will be modified as the year goes on. This is the first rough draft introduced. Rather than learning many scriptures there are key elements in this scripture that we like to have the children learn. They are highlighted in green.  DID you know that GOD created LIGHT FIRST before HE created the source?                                       'Power of 'God-in-Action-within us....

 Understand that children can grasp the essence of almost any truth.

Among all the biblical admonitions for parents to teach their children the Word of God, not once is there a disclaimer or warning of any kind. There's no PG rating on Scripture�none of it is inappropriate for younger audiences. All Scripture is for all ages.
Don't hold back teaching your children because you think they aren't ready. Though they may not fully understand some of the more difficult spiritual concepts, children can grasp the essence of almost every truth. In fact, they are better equipped now to assimilate spiritual truth than they will be when they are older.

There was a mother of a young 3 year old who told her mother that Jesus was sitting there with her. The mother thought for a min as the child pointed to the light on the ceiling. Even though it was a physical light the child realized that Jesus was there.."see how he glows" We must all learn to be like children. So wow, just imagine that everytime a child sees a light come on in the dark of night or even in the light of day, they can relate the physical light to the Light of God...Jesus Christ.  See how he glows the reflection of Jesus Christ in our childrens lives can be taught in the little things we do?

One of the most important responsibilities that we have as parents, teachers and adults  is to teach our children - how to have faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. Christians believe that The Holy Bible is the "word of God". Christians also believe that God is All Knowing - All Loving - All Powerful and Always... All Around Us!   JUST as LIGHT!

1. Walking in the Light    Just as a lighthouse guides ships to safety and away from dangers Jesus Chirst is our light that we guides us through life.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16: You are the light of the world ... let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Again like all our programs we want them to be fun, and exciting but stearing the coarse of the Bible. A lighthouse keeps ships from crashing into rocky cliffs during fog. A lighthouse shines the way to give people direction. The Lighthouse of Life Vacation Bible School for 2009 again like all our programs they can be used together. Life....the importance of life through Jesus Christ who is the light of life. This is the theme of our Youth Program the Circle of Life. Jesus is the light of life. Lighthouses  did you know that one of the 7 wonder's of the world...a lighthouse built over 2,000 years ago? This new VBS program is filled with activities and crafts of excitement. Building a lighthouse using a flash light that the children can use both at home that stands up, and for a walking light. The theme is that children are lighthouses in their neighborhoods and schools. This 5 day program helps to build a solid foundation to Help children see the importance of their fervent prayer in the place God has placed them to be a light.

Just as our Hero Academy the children make a love brick in our 2009 VBS program again the children work to make bircks...not just one. Then they are used to build a lighthouse for your church. This craft will take several volunteers, and a little work. The time involved in this project is a hour each day. If your program is in the evening the bricks will dry the next day in the sun. The children will make about 10 bricks each day for 4 days. A total of 40 bricks. The reason for this is the number 40 is used in the bible several places for items of importance and we want the children to relate in this number to their project and also to the Word of God. The bricks are not full sized. On the last day the children will construct the light house.

Teaching children about Biblical Numbers and Biblical Colors.  Two things that children relate to are numbers [math] and colors. We believe that it is important to incorporate both into the learning experience when teaching the Bible to kids. They seem to retain both in relationship to reading and understanding the Word of God. 

The Crafts: A Lighthouse, sand art, making of  bricks to build a lighthouse for your church to display. This teaching the children to work together and that the lighthouse of Rome some 2,000 ago were made from bricks, the children feel the dirt, the grass, the water, and watch the change as the sun bakes the brick. The bricks are smaller than regualr bricks about half size, more details are in the lesson outlines for you.
