Around the Old Rocking Chair and the Heroe's Tool's and Tool Box, Small biscuit roll , Bible Hero Cards to place in the tool box. I ask that you be creative and expand upon this program incorporating your own ideas.  This is just a basic outline of the program for you to follow. If you would like to do this program please contact me and I will direct you to the addresses on the site for the lesson plan layout and the other materials.  This is just a example.

All the materials below like the scriptures are for your own use the children do not learn them all only the few you select from in the program.   

Materials needed for this day:  Index cards pre cut like a sheild, a large clay pot, a rocking chair, shoe boxes one for each child, stickers, paint's, (Water type) Markers or pens to write on the cards, A Bible, Biscuits (Have women in the church make them up in advance)  A small tent, Borrow a tent from a local Boy scout troop if someone dont own one in your congregation, some rubber balls for the

 HEROE'S  TOOL  BOX    Craft for Day 1

As the children learn about Heroe's it is important to continue to reinforce the fact that all these Hero's had a certain thing's  in common.   I like to call them the "Tools" of a hero.   If possible try to come up with cardboard shoeboxes.  During a craft time the children can take the boxes and create, decorate, paint, put stickers, (be creative) on their Heroe's Tool box.  On the shield cards (Have your volunteers make many of them up before the program starts have a work day at the church) have them write down the tools of a hero on the card and place them into the Hero's Tool box they craft. 

These are "The Rocking Chair" stories  the children gather round a rocking chair as someone reads these stories to them.
