Youth Pastor Dan Wheeler's Childrens Stories and Sunday School [Above is Fron the frog, Ted the Turtle and Mr. Wise]
Jenasus [take out the NA] and it spells JESUS. Several years ago My son brought him a old plastic pond that someone had thrown out along the road for trash. Mark brought it to me and said here dad, this is the pond like you always wanted. I didnt know if it was a joke or knowing Mark he was just thinking of his dad. So begins the story. That night while sitting on the ground I dug a hole beside the porch and placed the old black molded plastic pond in it. Filled it with water and placed some sand stone around it. I had a old pump and hose so I made a water falls coming down into the pond and decided to go to my nearby dollar store for some small decorations. I purchased two turtles and placed them at the top of the water falls. Believe it or not it turned out looking pretty good. A day or two latter I came home and two land turtles had come and were at the top of the water falls by where the two plastic ones I placed. Wow, what a surprise. Then I had a idea about children's stories. Frogs Crossing, Ted the turtle, Tom his brother, the Water Angels that danced beneath the falls, Fron the Frog, Betty the Butterfly, Sly the fly, Stan the stick bug, Albert the Ant, Moe the Mole, Hal the Spider, Mr. Wise, and the ideas just started flowing like the water of the falls. Thus begins Jenasus, the beginning....and all the characters have turned into three rock gardens, Sonshine Mountain, Butterfly Valley, Frogs Crossing. I now have 10 chapter's written about Jenasus. They all tie into Scripture but done in a unique way. Below are some pictures from Jenasus. Below is a sample of Moe the Mole from Jenasus. Below is a short example of one of the stories from Jenasus. Isa 44:18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
As I look from frogs crossing over to the distant hills I watch the tall grass blowing lifeless from the famine of this year. So lifeless, brown and tall, once so green and waving with the rhythm of the summer warm breeze as it bathed upon its shaves. Blessed are we in Jenasus where everything is so green and full of life under the giant arms of Mr. Wise spreading out over Butterfly valley to sonshine mountain. Though change will come even here as the celebration of life festival soon draws so ever near, with its sweet nector punch and the beauty of the autum sun. Fron watchers as Moe the mole as blind is he as he runs across butterfly valley. Look out Moe yeals Fron as Moe runs head first into a rock by the pond. Are you ok, asks Fron in a concerned way. But Moe is ever so shy and just runs away as his head strikes another rock. Over on the other side of the pond on the rocks by the water is Roger the roach and his friends as they laugh at Moe as he hits the second rock. Fron yeals out to them, dont you know that Moe is blind?. They replied to Fron, yep we do and we see he is so stupid too. There are those who can see replied Fron that are blind indeed. What do you mean said Roger? Simply there are those like you that think make fun of those without sight which in fact are blinder than Moe. Ye right said Roger as his friends laughed. They laughed and laughed until they fell right off the rocks into Frogs crossing. Then one by one they began to realize that they couldnt swim. Oh help us, help us cried out Roger and his friends, we can not swim and will drown. Fron though for a moment, well that will teach them, as his fathers voice inside his heart said, You shall love the creator with all your heart , and your neighbor as yourself. Okey he began to realize as he was about to jump in to save them. But before Fron could leep, in jumps a little furry fellow with a pointed nose and no eyes, kind of looking like a pine cone in the pond. Ever swimming to Roger and his friends, jump on, said Moe, they all jumped onto Moes back as he swam toward the side of the pond. Roger and his friends all jumped off to the rock in safety as Moe shock off his coat and ran away. Fron looked at Roger and his friends and said... you see, you are the ones that are really blind, as he hopped away from them as they were shivering on the rock in a daze, then Roger and his friends began to realize that though Moe was blind his heart had eyesthe eyes of love for others.
