Wheeler Now used in 13 countries and 25 States throughout the United States                          A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR of THE HERO ACADEMY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Never before in the history of humankind has there been such a attack upon our Children and Youth!   There are some VBS that are using our program The HERO ACADEMY and using Comic Book Heroes. This must be done in a prayerful way if using both REAL HEROE'S and MAKEBELIVE. I like to recommend the REAL and not the Make believe but children seem to get more excited over Spiderman than a Fireman. This also sadens me as once in times past children looked up to these Real people as Real Heroe's. In the Recent SPIDERMAN III there are some good morals. But we must remember that the devil comes in the front door like a sheep not in the back door. He always duplicates God's goodness in a lie and disception. So we must be very careful, that is why we like to use REAL not Comic or Make believe. We want children to learn about the REAL GOD not one they can not see and relate to as make believe. MOVIES: Spiderman III: Viewers see a vivid picture of the choice we all have between serving God and serving Satan—choosing sin or rejecting it. Peter chooses wrongly each time he selects the black suit. When he finally sees the evil of the suit and the blackness of his own heart, Spider-Man cannot free himself. He must turn to God. This "turning to God" is shown as Spider-Man spends a repentant time alone outside the church. Then he fights and wrestles with all his might to remove the suit, but fails. Finally in the high tower of the church as the bells clang loudly, spent and weak, Spider-Man can do nothing but kneel and pray. At last, the chains of sin are broken and the ugly, black tentacles give up their hold. What a powerful illustration of repentance from sin!  Harry Potter: need I say anything for the Bible states it ever so clearly. Witchcraft or Wicca is a abomination in the eyes of GOD> Video Games/Televison/: Guitar Hero/ Ghost Hero[see below adds] /PARIS: Altair, a stealthy assassin with a preference for crossbows and retractable stilettos, is already a hero of his own popular video game. Hero T.V. show: The critically acclaimed first season's run of 23 episodes garnered an average of 14.3 million viewers in the United States, receiving the highest rating for any NBC drama premiere in five years. People are searching for Heroe's. This program deals with good fighting evil perhaps but it also uses mythology. The word mythology (from Greek([μυθολογί]  refers to a body of folklore/myths/legends that a particular culture believes to be true and that often use the supernatural to interpret natural events and to explain the nature of the universe and humanity. Mythology also refers to the branch of knowledge dealing with the collection, study and interpretation of myths, also known as mythography. This program also uses symbols. There are several elements and symbols that appear repeatedly throughout the series: the helix, the scar, the eclipse, and the cockroach.The Serpent symbol of Satan also represents the DNA helix of life. When they have inside been given by our God all the tools they need to become REAL HEROE'S. We are responsible to 'train' them what a Hero really is not? Train them about real power, real laws, the real code of a hero, real tools. When we use theme's of the world then the picture the children recieve is of the world. Children are like sponges they absorb everything.  Do Real Heroe's fly? Shot webs? Use fancy belts and gadgets? Jesus Christ the greatest HERO of eternity used what?  Love, he was humble and simple. He had great strength and ability, he showed great courage, and was of DIVINE descent.  If the examples of a HERO are centered around make believe characters, then we have missed the boat. Let's train our children about how they can become a REAL HERO after REAL examples. A hero is a hero by choice. To reach out to others is a choice which is placed the seed inside ones heart. The Bible school literature that we have produced in recent decades is woefully anemic. It is hard to find material that is strong in doctrine. The current slick and colorful literature is filled with case-study scenarios and role-playing exercises that rely more on human wisdom than a respect for the authority of God’s Word. Lets get back to the basics.   A Hero brings change.  Change makes difference. We need Godly Heroes Today starting at the Home. "  2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  So we need heroes today, examples starting at home.  Twofold, humble and pray.  Today our examples have taken on a new meaning of pride and self.  Heroes.....How about a FATHER? The Hero Academy/ Vacation Bible School Program Just like any workman a Hero takes his tools from his hero tool box and places them upon his tool belt. Some of the key tools are, The Bible, The Laws, Prayer, Love, Power, Examples, Sacrifice for others..       Kids look to sports, comics, Television, Movies when there is a real Hero inside each of them. A Hero that looks up to a higher one for strength and power.  We are using comic books for our example because it cuts to the heart of the matter. At one time codes were put into place about comics. They have changed indeed over the years. Below is the code from 1954. If you read it, then you will see just how we have compromised. Where we came from and where we are today?  We have allowed the changes to come.  As Christians we have not STOOD our ground, we have allowed the REAL HERO of a home the DAD to be replaced. Now it is time to fight back...to begin to TRAIN our CHILDREN so they can TRAIN there children what real heroe's are. Lets Train our children about a code that never changes and never compromises....The Word of God. The code has taken a 360 degree turn over the years. Read it for yourself. All the good that once stood has been replaced with the very same things that were not permitted now are exceptable in both our comic books, movies, television, games and thus our very life and lifestyles. Some call this FREEDOM  I call it destruction! THE COMIC BOOK CODE Crimes shall never be presented in such a way as to create sympathy for the criminal, to promote distrust of the forces of law and justice, or to inspire others with a desire to imitate criminals. If crime is depicted it shall be as a sordid and unpleasant activity. Criminals shall not be presented so as to be rendered glamorous or to occupy a position which creates a desire for emulation. In every instance good shall triumph over evil and the criminal punished for his misdeeds. Scenes of excessive violence shall be prohibited. Scenes of brutal torture, excessive and unnecessary knife and gunplay, physical agony, gory and gruesome crime shall be eliminated. No comic magazine shall use the word horror or terror in its title. All scenes of horror, excessive bloodshed, gory or gruesome crimes, depravity, lust, sadism, masochism shall not be permitted. All lurid, unsavory, gruesome illustrations shall be eliminated. Inclusion of stories dealing with evil shall be used or shall be published only where the intent is to illustrate a moral issue and in no case shall evil be presented alluringly, nor so as to injure the sensibilities of the reader. Scenes dealing with, or instruments associated with walking dead, torture, vampires and vampirism, ghouls, cannibalism, and werewolfism are prohibited. Profanity, obscenity, smut, vulgarity, or words or symbols which have acquired undesirable meanings are forbidden. Nudity in any form is prohibited, as is indecent or undue exposure. Suggestive and salacious illustration or suggestive posture is unacceptable. Females shall be drawn realistically without exaggeration of any physical qualities. Illicit sex relations are neither to be hinted at nor portrayed. Violent love scenes as well as sexual abnormalities are unacceptable. Seduction and rape shall never be shown or suggested. Sex perversion or any inference to same is strictly forbidden. Nudity with meretricious purpose and salacious postures shall not be permitted in the advertising of any product; clothed figures shall never be presented in such a way as to be offensive or contrary to good taste or morals. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.  The Logo of the HERO ACADEMY  You make the giant shield out of cardboard and place them on the wall in your classroom or where you are teaching the program. Ribbons are tied from the bottom of the shield as cadet teams accomplish tasks that are set for them to do.  More details are in the lesson plans after you sign up.  FearFaith You have heard the saying  garbage in...garbage out.  Well the GOD WE serve never made Junk. But in today's world we have allowed the junk to fill their minds. What one time was a real HERO today is replaced by sports figures on drugs, comic book characters that make their way into video's, movies that are far from the truth and the list goes on and on. The one time family, is now broken because we simply have given way to compromise, have pulled GODS STANDARDS down to fit our own needs, when we should REACH UP TO GOD"S STANDARDS.  It is the pollution of the world that goes into our children that brings change. So lets together get back to the basics. Yes RESPECT for each other, for GOD, our Parents, for life.  The BIBLE, we break down into a little saying below. Internal brings Eternal. This program is not candy coated about a journey to a distant land on a pirate ship, or flying around as a super hero for God, or searching for a lost tressure it is written around things that we have allowed the Devil to take away from us and our children. Why children seem to be as I say 'unleashed' unrestricted, is because they have no RESPECT.  RESPECT is a key to this program. And the guidelines in the ACADEMY like setting must be lifted up with the serious attitude.  This vacation BIBLE School program is by no means boaring, it is fun and filled activities which move along each day to the point there seems to be not enough time. BUT if you are looking for another VBS where children just  'play' and follow themes of the world this program is not for your church. For it is up to us as leaders to establish a foothold, to take the ground back. Let us replace the FEAR factor with the FAITH factor. The HERO ACADEMY is where children learn about real heroes, using the BIBLE. B= bring   I= internal to your heart  B=brings  L=life  E=eternal One of the most greatest Dangers we face today How do children today view a Hero? Just look at the video games they play. The movies they watch even the T.V. series Hero. But the qualities are they are learning are they really that of a real hero?  Does the hero kill the bad guy always? Jesus fought evil with love. One of the most recent Games that both children and adults are playing is called GUITAR HERO.  Please take some time and read about this game. "...For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." -Romans 16:18 HEROE'S IN GAMES that the children Role Play...a clear and present Danger The words of a real youth who purchased the game.   "Guitar Hero came into my life in Mid-June with a blaze of glory. Being a big music fan and at the same time virtually unable to play a real guitar this game filled the large hole in my life. My need to be a star... in front of my friends... in my own house. Within minutes this game has its firm grip so tightly around my soul, its all I cared about." It was the late evening of July 3rd. I had just arrived home from a  concert here in Omaha and needless to say after that bone crushing rock I was ready to roll. I strapped on that plastic guitar and ripped through No One Knows, Heart Full of Black Youth and Adults are taken to a spiritual level and allow the demons of hell to come into their  presence! We were neck in neck in points... I had to do something special. I needed STYLE points. I breathed deep, my rock meter was maxed out and I was going to make this audience feel it. I twisted to the right and threw my guitar in the air! Instead of a roaring audience I heard a loud snap! My knee slid to the outside of my leg and my leg bent sideways as I fell to the ground. knee was indeed broken. I had knocked an inch and a half piece of bone off of my femur under my knee. I needed knee surgery the next day. David used Music to sooth the soul of a King, why is it so hard for parents to believe that music can open the doors of HELL?  The Very sign of the program is the horned hoof sign of the Church of Satan. The tumb tucked under, a sly  copy of the sign language "I   LOVE YOU" where the thumb is streached outward. This is used at the Guitar Hero Web site! The Quality of a Hero?  In the Guitar Hero Game one hero is described as PURE DARKNESS another as Debauchery. A Hero?  Are these the standards, the character, the quality of a Hero. Think about it? In the latest game on the market 'Guitar Hero' is sweeping our young children and young adults away. They will stand infront of a Television set or screen and play this game for hours. Even in music we have heroes.  Guitar Hero sounds friendly but the characters and the music you need to read the following.  These are by no means the qualities and character of a hero. Our children are taking on the role character of these so called guitar heroes.  Children are like sponges they absorb everything they come in contact with, so we must make a difference and teach children what a REAL HERO is.
