QUALITIES OF A HERO
These are some qualities of a Hero.
I recommend you use the On Their level in the ( ) comments about the qualities of a Hero which are marked below. You can be creative and make your own up.
You should make up cards with some of these words on the cards. After the Rocking Chair story about the Hero ask the children which one of these Qualities did the Bible Hero Have. There are other Qualities in a hero but these 5 below are the ones that children should be taught. Use One each day on a card. {5} like the card below in the shape of a shield.
On the final day then go back and talk about each of the heroes and what Qualities each one pocessed. For example:
Gideon
Did Gideon have courage? (To go up against `135,000 soldiers with his mere 300 ) Loyalty? (He obeyed God and followed his instructions) Sacrific? Determination? Conviction? (He set out with the clay pots, torches and shofars focused on the task) "Gideon", said the voice. He moved over his wheat and stood very still, "Who wants Gideon? Then the mighty voice sounded again. "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of Valor
This way you will be able to make sure the children understand what each quality really is. Make refrence to the events from the story. Just select one or two Bible Heroes along with Jesus.
