So in The Olive Branch Program is simply a statement by the Award Program that they will work with the award seeker toward the goal of their award. That is the program: A commitment and statement of reaching out your hand to those who seek your award. Rather than simply just disqualifying a site for certain things, a web site will work with them. Keep in mind that you may still disqualify sites for certain Criteria but the waiting time to re apply for a site is waved at least for sometime so that the site may do so as the corrections are made. We believe that a Award Program is simply that. Some people will correct certain things and come back to apply for the award a second time and be disqualified again, and again until they no longer apply for the sites award. Any award program should 'help' those achieve their award rather than simply disqualifying them and telling them they can re apply in 90 or 120 days. This does not lower the standards of your program, it promotes with the Award community is all about. It takes time yes but it also brings satisfaction to the program. There are is only one guideline set by our program, you may use what guidelines you wish to work with those sites. The only thing is you must do just that WORK with those who fall short of your Criteria. To reach out with the Olive Branch..... Notice of Changes: Effective March 10th 2008 Due to the workload of this ministry applications for the Dove Award will only be taken from the FIRST of the month until the 15th. All sites will be reviewed within 7 days if no problems are found. We are stepping out in a new direction and invite our peers to also consider this. On our application page it goes like this... We thank you for your time in this journey. We believe everyone wants to make a difference. The Dove Award Program believes that we all make a difference. We offer you a graphic, it is not any award but part of our program that is called "The Olive Branch" program. We want to reach out to all sites even the ones that will not receive our rated award. This is not a friendship graphic but one that you can be proud to place upon your site with a simple statement that you are working together with us to for that difference. Our panel has agreed to remove our 90 day waiting period to re apply for our award.[See exceptions below] Our panel will work with each site that fails our Criteria for some reason. This is a 'hands on' type approach. We will work with you on a one on one basis to help you solve these problems on this journey. After our panel sees that you are ready and prepared for the journey a second time we will then allow you to continue. Simply if you are not awarded our rated award...we will continue to work with you and follow up to see how you are doing. We believe we all make a difference and we are reaching out the olive branch to help you achieve our award. So you will be contacted each week to see how your journey is coming, the improvements and changes that you must meet according to our Criteria. Then we will simply invite you to take the journey again. This is a new venture for us but we think that is what the award programs are all about. We will work with each site that is not awarded our award for a period of 90 day's max. PLEASE READ BELOW
How the program works: The olive branch is a branch of an olive tree. In Western culture, derived from the customs of Ancient Greece, it symbolizes peace or goodwill. The original link between olive branches and peace is unknown. Some explanations center on that olive trees take a very long time to bear fruit. Thus the cultivation of olives is something that is generally impossible in time of war.
After our evaluation you will either be honored with our Dove Award or not. Either way we will contact you. If you are willing to make corrections within a 30 day time period we will work with you to correct the items which left your journey short according to our Criteria. We are not asking you to change your site for us, only that you correct the items you need to to continue your journey for the Dove Award. It is your choice. We will then work hand in hand with your for the next 30 Days. If the corrections are not made within that time period or you do not respond to our mails then your journey will stop. Then you will have to wait the 90 Days to Re apply for our award. We simply have waived the 90 Day waiting period for you and will work via e-mail with you to make the corrections. If you do not respond to our mails and make the corrections then we will assume that you do not want to take the olive branch that we are handing out to you. THERE IS 2 EXCEPTIONS TO THIS PROGRAM:

ime is the greatest gift we can give. It is great to showcase those sites that meet our Standards. But along the way there are so many that simply slip through the cracks. Let us reach out and offer a hand not just in resource articles but in direct communication with these sites. Join us today in the Olive Branch Program reaching out to web sites as they journey in our Award Community. Almost...can become already there. PLEASE understand that This program does not assure any site of our Award by NO MEANS. It is not a program to help us give away for that is what it would be our award. It must be earned by the web master who designs and creates a site that leaves a lasting impression. Criteria, Code, html, Java, in no way can do that. Our panel must be touched by the site, left with a lasting impression. The Olive Branch Program only deals with the code and meeting our Criteria and working with a hands on with the web master. Our Panel is the key to our Award not the Olive Branch Program. We simply want to help sites make corrections to error's. The burning desire to achieve a difference is shown in the site by the 'heart' the purpose not the code! 
The one year waiting period for improper posting of badges without permission or pics will still be in effect. Simply if a badge is on a site and you are not a member or have a working affiliation with that organization one knows that they are not a member before they post it and doing such to us it is against our Ethics. It is the same as taking something that is not yours to take or use. We can not have a double set of standards plain and simple it is wrong and unjust to do such a thing and the olive branch program was not set up for those who want to make a difference in such a way as this. 
The second is simply you must complete our application as we ask. Fill in all the details including the phrase we ask for. The phrase is mentioned throughout our pages, and you can also find it in the search box. We feel that we have made our application 'simple' to use and for us to work with a site that site must be able to follow simple instructions. If a web master can not fill in a few simple blocks then how can they listen as we try to work with them in this journey?
