Hands on time where the children handcraft the biblical working musical instrumentsIn the Hands Time copyrightOn segment of the lessons is the crafting of Biblical instruments plays a very important part of the program. The children learn how the instruments were used in worship, craft them, and then play them. Harps, Timbrels, Stringed Instruments, Shofars/Trumpets, Oboes,Percussion Instruments, Bells and Chimes, Flutes, Mitzelet ( Double Cymbals) Children learn about the two elements of music......Melody, and Rhythm. Using a method created by Dan Wheeler called STS the program uses the senses to teach children both music and the Bible. The character that assists you is called Mr. Clef. Mr.Clef is placed inside a circle representing The three major parts to the program. Hands on Time at the top, To the left Heart Time, and the Right is Ear Training. The Three parts of the Godhead, Father,Son,Holy Spirit, and Music. The number Three is used throughout the Bible as the number representing Completion. Mr. Clef holds a directors staf upward to represnet that God created Music and the heart of worship is all about Jesus Christ.
Mr.
Learning about sound and vibrations, and how to Here the children start to learn music by beginning to LISTEN with the heart not just the ears. (The dictonary states that the word listen is to make an effort to hear something), We teach children to slow down and pay attention to sounds that are around them. Slow down in a world that says move fast)
JESUS in Sign Language:The middle finger tip of the right hand touches the center of the left palm then the middle finger tip of the left hand touches the center of the right palm. This also ties in with the 5 finger prayer for the middle finger in the 5 finger prayer represents Jesus Christ.
Each week the children learn one of the Ten commandments as they go up and down the mountain From the tribes of Israel to the Family of GOD. Learning God's Word, and what real hero's are, like Noah,Moses,David,Joseph,Abraham, learning the meaning of worship and praise, faith, and love, and the meaning of others, rather then self. About the the light of Jesus Christ. Using the Word of God.
We teach the children some basic sign language. The Ten Commandments: The right "a" hand with the thumb up, shakes slightly. The right "c" hand moves from the fingertips to the palm of the left, open hand with palm facing out.

Heart Time is the time the children learn to play music from the heart and not just the notes they learn orchestration the colour of musicHeart Timecopyright Ensemble gathering Learning about UNITYand playing together in parts in a group session. Teaching the children how to play music from the heart not just from the notes. In this time element the children learn to play music now by combining the other elements they have learned. Hearing from the heart, Hearing from the Ears, and now to create the music to becoming .... the music played with "Heart". Some might call this expression, color or whatever. I simply combine Heart and Ear listening to applying it to the creative side of each child.
Listen with heart (Slow down and make a effort to hear life)+Listen with the ear(Now to get to know music)= Playing with the heart (Music played from within each childs creative side)
Ear training is where the children learn to hear the notes in relationship to the instrumentEar Training Time This is the part of the lessons where the children start to do Hands on the keyboard Get to know. Here the children learn from listening with the heart to Hear music now with the Ears. (The dictionary definds the word Hear as to get to know of or learn about)
If you notice the Hands on Time element the children LISTEN and now they HEAR. These to elements though they may seem to be the same, they are as different as the letters that make up each of their words. LISTEN-HEAR. They start to perform get to know, Exercises by using "name that note" and learning location of the notes by their sounds and location on the keyboard and staff . Now the children also learn how to play the notes with color, as they hear them. Also in this time element the children continue each week learning of the 10 Commandments through finger exercies. Why theTen Commandments? Is knowing the Ten Commandments enough? When the government took the Ten Commandments off the walls of the courthouses and schools did we take them out of the churches and homes too? 4th & 5th graders were surveyed in numerous churches to discover 80% of them do not know the Ten Commandments. 80% is alarming!
Does modern society really need old fashioned laws like the Ten Commandments?

A public school teacher caught several students cheating on a Math test. She was extremely upset and began to reprimand the students when one student raised his hand. "What's the big deal?" he asked.

I repeat the question to you? "What's the big deal?"

Are values really important? Is the erosion of our society enough for us to get on our knees to call on Heaven to help us impact this generation? Is the erosion of values enough to draw us back to teaching foundational truths like the ten commandments? Its time we get back to basics, don't you think so?
